NERCSC 2026 Fall Program

The NERCSC 2026 will offer virtually on Thursday, October 15, 2026 the second of a two-part 2026 series, Transformative Caring within the Nursing Profession, Part 2: Creating Caring Nursing Communities of Learning and Practice. Building onto Part 1 that addressed “Developing Self-Wellbeing and Caring Intentions”, this October session focuses on developing and fostering transformative, compassionate nursing communities in both practice and educational settings, guided by caring theories.

This Fall virtual program will explore the transformative development of nursing learning environments and practice communities through compassionate, authentic presence; caring relationships, and personal commitment. These are essential ingredients to creating caring future nurses and healing care communities and outcomes. The program will include examples of building caring curricula and learning partnerships within nursing education and caring collaborative health care delivery communities. Through presentation, examples, reflection, discussion, and micro-practices, participants will explore core attributes and strategies that support caring-healing relationships and community well-being in nursing education and community cultures.

The program will be presented virtually via Zoom by the NERCSC team and invited speaker, Dr. Charlotte D. Barry, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor Emerita at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University and a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Barry is a caring scholar, change agent, educator, mentor, author, and international leader. Her career has encompassed caring science development, research, teaching, and practice, with a specialty in community health. She has nurtured caring-centered nursing education and practice partnerships, through national and global advancement of caring science and her Community Nursing Practice Model. There is no fee to attend this program, but registration is required at the nercsc-2026-fall-program page on  the NERCSC website. Registration for the October program will close at 11:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. Nurses, students, and other healthcare professionals are invited to attend this meaningful program. Nursing Contact Hours (1.5) have been applied for.
