Caring Science in Action:
Part 1—Developing Caring Relationships in Academic Settings
The MRCSC Spring program is scheduled for April 13, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The topic is Caring Science in Action , that will be presented in a two-part series. The April program will focus on Part 1—Developing Caring Relationships in Academic Settings, featuring presentations and discussion on essential preparations needed for caring teaching and learning, sustaining caring faculty and student relationships, and ingredients of caring teaching-learning academic programs.
Speakers will include the MRCSC leadership team, who are caring science scholars, nursing clinicians, and nursing faculty in academic settings.

11:05 – 11:30 am Mindful Caring for Self as an Essential Practice for Teaching-Learning (Christine McNulty-Buckley, DNP, MBA, RN, CPHQ, NEA-BC; Certified MBSR & Koru Mindfulness Teacher, Caritas Coach®)
11:30- — 11:50 am The Role of Caring-Inclusive Language in Creating Caring Teaching-Learning Relationships (Rachael-Salguero, PhD Candidate, MSN, RN-BC, CNEcl)
11:50 am – 12:15 pm Co-Creating Caring Teaching-Learning Environments for Student Success (Danielle Leone-Sheehan, PhD, RN, Caritas Coach®)
12:15 – 12:25 pm Discussion
12:25 – 12:30 pm Closing Comments & Program Evaluations & Certificates (Danielle Leone-Sheehan, PhD, RN, Caritas Coach®)
There is no fee to attend this program, but registration is required at www.mrcsc.org . Shortly after you register , the system will send an email acknowledging your registration to the email address you entered in your registration. Because corporate servers may block emails from certain addresses, it is best to use a personal email address. The Zoom link for the program is sent to registrants a week before the program. Nurses, students, and other healthcare professionals are invited to attend. Nursing Contact Hours will be offered.
The second part of this series, Caring Science in Action: Part 2—Developing Caring Relationships in Nursing Practice Settings, will be offered by the MRCSC at the Fall 2023 virtual program. Date and time to be announced later.
